Luke Billmeyer Obituary

Luke James Billmeyer, 30, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on November 28, 2018 the result of an automobile accident.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3rd, 2018 at Hope Church with Pastor Matt Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Colesburg, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday December 2nd, 2018 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.

Luke was born on July 12, 1988 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Dean Dalos Billmeyer and Julie Marie Schumacher. He attended Hempstead High School in Dubuque and worked at various restaurants throughout his life as a cook. Luke was an excellent cook and made many delicious meals, he especially enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

Along with cooking Luke enjoyed fishing especially with his brothers, playing guitar was his passion and he was the best at pulling pranks.  

He is survived by his father Dean Billmeyer, his mother Julie (Joseph Accola) Schumacher; his siblings, Joshua Billmeyer, Vania (Scott) Riedl, Judd (Ashley) Billmeyer, and Alisia (Jimmy) Peacock. His nieces Ashlynn and Kammryn; nephews Ivan, Cole, Aidan, Austin and a nephew on the way. Many uncles and aunts including two special aunts Lisa and Jenny; three very special cousins Dalton, Brandon and Jesse.

Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erma and Ivan Billmeyer, Melvin “Tink” and Kathleen Schumacher.

To our family and friends, we thank you for all the care, support and especially the love shown to us during this very difficult time. Luke was loved by so many and will be missed greatly.
