Mary was born on August 20, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of James Edward Bakey and Geraldine Bernice Cavanough. She married Michael Breen on October 5th, 1991.

Mary made sure to live her best life. She loved to dance with her husband Mike and have a cocktail with family & friends. Her smile would light up any room and her quick wit, sass and spunk made most people laugh. She loved her time working at Mercy hospital and doing hair. Her beloved dog, Barney is with her now and giving her many kisses. A few family members were waiting for her in Heaven and we are sure she goosed St. Peter as she walked thru the gates. Rest now Mary, it's your time to dance as if no one is watching, we love you.

Mary is survived by her husband Michael, of Dubuque; daughter Aimee (Troy) Long, of Lovettsville, VA; step-daughter Jodi Breen and step-daughter-in-law Chris Breen both of Dubuque. Step grandchildren, Alex Breen, Savannah King, Jayden King, Hayley Breen, Nathan Breen and Natalie Breen, siblings Richard "Dick" Bakey, Gene Bakey, Carol Smith, and John Bakey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-son Chad Breen; her brother Jerry Bakey, and sister Darlene Beckman.
