Msgr. Friedl was my instructor for introductory psychology while I was at Loras College. He was a wonderful teacher, priest, administrator, snd raconteur.
We will greatly miss his joie de vivre.

Msgr Friedl was a wonderful man of many talents
my folks thought so much of him as our parish priest at nativity, they named me for him
He was also integral in helping a friend get into loras after a less than stellar academics elsewhere. He was empathetic and a real man of god
He was highly devoted to loras and wrote many remembrances of loras people including “doc” Kramer
Msgr would have been contemporary with doc and actually told the story of how this beloved trainer got the designation:doc
God rest his soul. We are happy that he is with the lord

David & I want to offer our deepest sympathy to Father Friedel's family. We are sorry for your loss, Father was a marvelous man and a deeply committed priest. We had the honor to work with him for several years as a presenting couple for Worldwide Marriage Encounter. He was passionate about helping married couples to strengthen their marriage bonds, to become better parents and to grow closer to God. He had a profound effect on so many people, and he was a truly kind & loving man.

We were privileged to have known Msgr.Friedl. As we often told him, he was "a priest's priest".This planet was so fortunate to have him for 99 years! He was our pastor at St.Columbkilles, and was kind enough to officiate the marriage of our middle daughter, Paula, years after we had left Dubuque. He also concelebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary, three years ago. This year we will have one less cherished Christmas greeting. But, we know where he is.
Our sympathy to his friends and family.

I worked for Msgr Friedl while attending Loras College and was very pleased to know him better than many. He also taught Psychology my sophmore year. Since he was nearly 100, I knew his time was nearing an end. How lucky there were so many people who were affected positively by him.
