Patrick J. “Moon” Kutsch, 67 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away at home on Monday, October 30th, 2017 after a year long battle with cancer.
Committal prayers will be on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5th, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. The visitation will close with a vigil service and rosary at 4 p.m.
Patrick was born June 22nd, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa to George and Elinor (Gorman) Kutsch. He attended Holy Ghost and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1968.
He married Dorothy M. Schroeder April 1st, 2014. They were together for 44 years, he always joked that he asked her to marry him after being together for a year, but it took her 39 years to say “yes”.
Patrick was the owner and operator of Blue Moon Antiques in Galena, IL for over 20 years. Prior to that he worked as a machinist at the Adams Co. and John Deere. At his Antique store, he loved working with wood and refinishing antiques. He always enjoyed joking and interacting with his customers, and loved to tell a good joke or two.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy M. Schroeder-Kutsch; his siblings Barb Trierweiler and Richard Kutsch both of Dubuque, Tom (Bobi) Kutsch of Crestview FL, his twin brother Michael Kutsch of Attleboro, MA, and Robert (Brenda) Kutsch of Soquel, CA; as well as his much loved nieces and nephews Steve (Julie), Sarah, Jim (Denise), Jake (Laura), Oliver, Wendy, Bailey, Shellie, Zachary, Ellianna, Patrick (Virginia), Georgia, Hunter, Amy (Jason), Aaron, Reese Rose, David (Janet), Tyson, Jeremy (Whitney), Michael Jr., and Cody Ann.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Elinor, as well as his siblings James R. (Connie Dunn) Kutsch and David F. Kutsch.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for their attention and care they gave to Patrick.
