Richard Hadley Obituary

Richard Earl “Dick” Hadley 74 of Durango, Iowa died Monday June 4, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be at 4 pm Saturday June 9, 2018 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595 Rockdale Road with military honors accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Friends may call from noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dubuque Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Dick was born on January 10, 1944 in Wisconsin the son of Aldon and Leona (Elleson) Hadley. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Dick married Sharon Pregler on Oct. 23, 2000 in Dubuque. He worked for the former Dubuque Packing Co and FDL Foods for 36 years and later worked for Green Industrial Supply until retirement. He was a member of the UFCW Local 150A. Dick loved the outdoors especially hunting, trapping, fishing and horseback riding.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, Daughter Victoria Lynn Hadley her three daughters and six Hadley grandchildren, step children Allan Dzaboff of Hazel Green, Dawn (Rodney) Schemmel and Donnie Dzaboff both of Dubuque, eight step-grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Chelsey, Courtney, Logan, Landon, Sierra and Ashley, three sisters Sharon (Donald) Martin of St. Catherine, Iowa, Phyllis (Virgil) Nihles of Highland, WI, Andrea (Donald) Ford of Montfort, WI and his little buddy Kolby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics staff, especially the MICU West unit for all the care and kindness they showed Dick and his family.
