Robert Paul Gretillat

Robert Paul Gretillat 34, of Dubuque, IA has completed his journey here on earth on August 27, 2018.

 A Celebration of his Life will be on Monday September 3, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. at the Oxus Grotto in Asbury, IA. A visitation will be on Tuesday September 4, 2018 from 9:30-10:30 a.m., with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at Leonard Funeral home and Crematory 2595 Rockdale Rd. Dubuque, IA.

Rob was born in Dubuque, IA on June 12, 1984 to Christine Uhlrich.  In his younger years Rob was a force with be reckoned with but was a protector to his cousins and his younger sisters.  Through Rob’s life, there were many ups and downs, but he is remembered for his knack of storytelling and his love of poetry.  Rob has left behind page after page of his own poetry for his loved ones to cherish.  Rob wrote from his heart and these are some of his own words,

“My life was not perfect, but I played the cards that were dealt. Please remember all the smiles and laughs that meant everything to my heart... I am your angel; I’ll help you pave the way.  God has me now, I feel happy today.”

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Christine Uhlrich, his brother Sean Yoder, 2 sisters Allison and Kelsey Kaufman and his beloved niece Jaylynn,  his 2 most precious gifts, his sons Trapper (mother Renee), Ryder (mother Hailey).  Rob will also be missed deeply by his Grandfather Paul Uhlrich, Grandparents Larry and Pat Hanson, and his Aunts and Uncles Lynn (Kevin) Kruser, Mike Uhlrich, Steve (Paula) Uhlrich, Julie (Mike) Koontz, Greg (Kelly) Uhlrich, Kerry (John) Elliott and his 16 cousins.  Rob is joining his grandmother Patricia Uhlrich and cousin Alicia Vandermillen on his next journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund in Robert’s name at Dupaco Community Credit Union.
