Sharon Mae (Menadue) Hartig, 71, of Guttenberg, Iowa passed away July 9, 2017, at St Lukes in Cedar Rapids, Iowa following a short illness.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years John A. Hartig; two sons, Michael Hartig of Cedarburg, WI and Brian Hartig of Chicago, II, she is also survived by a granddaughter, Morgan Hartig of Cedarburg. Sharon is also survived by seven siblings; Charles Jr. (Judy) Menadue, Tom (Janet) Menadue, Jackie (Carl Entringer), Richard (Sharon) Menadue, James (Sharon) Menadue, Patricia (Richard Dix), Vicki (Mike Noonan).

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Gladys (Sawvel) Menadue; a sister, Shirley (Bill Noonan-Harry), a sister -in-law Sharon (Donath) Menadue, a brother-in-law, Carl Entringer, and a brother-in-law Richard Dix.

Sharon Graduated from Dubuque Senior High and called Dubuque her home until having recently moved to Guttenberg, Iowa. Sharon and John recently celebrated their 50 Wedding Anniversary. She worked in Roshek's Packet Room, Flexsteel and Montgomery Wards. Sharon was an active minister as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with young folks, traveling and playing games with family and friends and was accomplished at working word and picture puzzles. Sharon had a love for flowers and color. She was known for her kindness and generosity to others.

A memorial service is planned for Sharon on Saturday July 22nd with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. and a 3:00 p.m. service to follow at the Kingdom Hall located at 3650 Asbury Rd. Dubuque.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit located at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
