Albert John Heiberger, 77, of Dubuque, IA, passed away January 8, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with Fr. Dave Ambrose officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the start of Mass. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Iowa Army National Guard.
Albert was born on October 7, 1947, in Dubuque, IA, to Laverne and Kathryn (Kass) Heiberger. He was a military man, always believing in God and his country. Albert served in the US Army from 1967-1970 during the Vietnam War serving in Korea as a front-line medic.
He was a devoted husband and father, especially when it came to his wife Bonnie’s health, he was her fiercest fighter. He was an art collector, Chicago Bears fan, and meticulous when it came to caring for his lawn.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Bonnie (Burns), children; Angey (Ashley) Lochner, Michael (Jamie) Heiberger, grandchildren; Katelynn, Garrett, Lindy, Piper, and Griffen, siblings; Betty and Sandy, in-laws; John (Karen), Gary (Kelly), JoAnn (Tim), Jaime (Devra) and fur baby Snow.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Pat and Mary, and his nephew and Godson Riki.
In lieu of flowers a memorial in Albert’s name has been established.
