Allan Joseph Ohmert

Allan Joseph Ohmert, 37, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics surrounded by family.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A funeral service and time of sharing will begin at 6:30 p.m. Inurnment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque at a later date.

Allan was born April 4, 1988, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Douglas and Peggy (Ansel) Ohmert. He graduated from Hempstead High School in 2006, and was currently employed at Walmart, Dubuque in the maintenance department.

Allan is survived by his parents, his brother Thomas (Ariel) Ohmert, and his two nephews, Parker and Colt Ohmert, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Ethel Ohmert, maternal grandparents, Denny and Betty Ansel, his aunt, Sandy (Ohmert) Clifton. 

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Dodds and her nurse at Medical Associates as well as the care team at University of Iowa Hospital for their amazing care of Allan.

An Allan Ohmert memorial fund has been established.
