Anthony J. Mallers

Anthony James Mallers, Sr., 39, of Dubuque, IA, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2024, in Dubuque.

A visitation will be Monday, August 19, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Church of the Nativity with Fr. Stephen Audu officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Tony was born on February 8, 1985, in Arlington Heights, IL, the son of Anthony Mallers and Barbara Gruesen.  He graduated from high school and went through apprenticeships and technical school for plumbing.  He married Kathy Gabel on May 7. 2011, at Church of the Nativity in Dubuque.  Together they owned TK Plumbing.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy; two sons, Anthony Mallers, Jr. and Trint Huseman; daughter, Kaylee Huseman; mother, Barbara Gruesen; father, Anthony Mallers; grandfather, Thomas Mallers; grandmother, Shirley Gruesen; sister, Amy (Jose) Perez; brother, Andrew (Onica) Mallers; mother and father-in-law James and Beth Gabel; brother-in-law James Gabel; sister-in-law Kristine (Christopher) Craven; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandfather Frank W. Gruesen and grandmother Rosemarie Mallers.

In lieu of flowers, an Anthony J. Mallers memorial fund will be established.
