Barbara Weber Obituary

Barbara “Barb” A. Weber, age 78 of Dubuque passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 surrounded by family.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14th, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Rosonke officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13th, 2018 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a wake service will be at 6:45 p.m.

She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and loyal friend to everyone.  Barb was born May 6, 1940 to Leo and Marie (Hird) Vogt in Dubuque and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in 1957. 

In 1958 she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Weber and they were married on April 29, 1961.  Barb and Dick have five children, Rick Weber of Dubuque, Randy (Shellee) Weber of Evansdale, Iowa, Lisa (Ron) Ryan, of East Dubuque, Nicole (Neil) Ghezzar of City Island, New York and Jason Weber also of Dubuque. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Noah, Myah, Zoee, Logan, Hannah and Grayson.

Barb always enjoyed holidays with family, cards with friends and weekend dinners out with Dick and the family.  Her favorite pastime of all was doting on all her grandkids.  She absolutely adored her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Barb is survived by two sisters, Linda Degneau and Donna Goar and Sisters-in-law Bernie and Betty Weber. She is also survived by many loving Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marie Vogt, parents-in-law, Herman and Leona (Sherlock) Weber, sisters, Ann Balk and Joan Vogt, brothers-in-law Jim Balk, Wilferd, Vince, Clarence, Jerry, Bernard and Don Weber, Hank Hess and Merlin Himes. Sisters-in-law Clara Tobin, Margaret Himes, Harriet, Mida and MaryAnn Weber.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Hermann and his office staff, and the ICU Nursing staff of Unity Point Finley Hospital in Dubuque.  We would also like to thank Kourtney and the entire staff at Hospice of Dubuque for their exceptional level of care during this difficult time.
