Bertha Jones Obituary

Bertha Kathleen “Kathy” Jones 93, of 250 West 6th St. passed away Tuesday May 22, 2018 at Hawkeye Care Center.

A memorial committal service will be on June 12th, 2018 at the National Veterans Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Kathy was born on Mar. 12, 1925 the daughter of Earl and Minnie (Hess) Young. She married Everett O. Jones on June 13, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 2, 1977.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jean (Ken) Johnson of Anderson, SC and Rosemary (Mike) Hopkins of Peosta, IA, her 5 grandchildren Tracey (Willie) Jones, Marla (Jim) Rybarczyk, Steven (Michelle Freiburger) Hopkins, Jeffrey (Shari) Hopkins, and William Johnson, 6 great grandchildren Alyssa and Peyton Hopkins, Ty Schutz and Emma Jones, Dillon and Madalyn Rybarczyk and a sister Betty Manley of Moberly, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Clarence, Charles, James, and Richard Young and a sister Mary Jane Lora.
