Brian Lee Frommelt, 56, passed away peacefully on April 19th, 2025.
Honoring Brian’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24th at Leisure Lake. Complete arrangements are pending. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.
Brian was born on December 26, 1968, in Dubuque, Iowa to Melody (Otterbeck) Frommelt and Thomas Frommelt. In 1991, Brian married Melody Zinkle. They felt they were the yin to the others' yang. They later separated but remained close and held such a bond with each other that he eventually became her caretaker, while she was under Hospice care, until her passing. In 1996, he married Gloria Heins. They later separated.
Brian was a carpenter by trade, though he was always willing to learn or try something new. If there was something to build, he was ready to make it happen. He particularly enjoyed the times that he and one of his dads, George Frommelt, worked on the same construction crew. He has had his hands on many family & friends’ homes during repair or renovation times. Brian always enjoyed a good game of 8 ball, and he played on a team for many years.
Brian LOVED his Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears! He took great pride in supporting his teams, even though it raised a lot of contention within the family, as there are many who give each other grief over their choice of teams!
You would always see his eyes light up when he found out his friends were setting up a night of card playing! As much as he liked winning on card nights, the time spent with his lifelong friends meant so much more. They were all integral parts of his world.
Brian had a love of the outdoors and really enjoyed his time at Leisure Lake. A morning with hot, black coffee and his favorite game, Candy Crush, was his ideal way to start a day. A comfy chair, a beer, and a campfire were his idea of a relaxing evening there.
Brian is survived by children: Brianna (Justin) Jones of Eastman, Wisconsin, Keisha Frommelt of Chicago, Illinois, Tessa (Josh) Honeywell of Decorah, Iowa, Jaydanne (Devon) Chadeayne of Patch Grove, Wisconsin, and as if 4 monster kids weren’t enough, he couldn’t help but bring another into the fold, Ryver Zinkle. Brian's grandchildren are: Maddy, Haylie, Jayden, Dawson, Wesley, Cyrus, Armani, Iliauna, Kolton, Kyzli, Amilya, Cameron, and Monroe. He is also survived by his siblings: Shari (Joe) Bush, Brenda Frommelt, Lonnie (Gayle) Beversdorf, Dwayne (fiancee` Misty Wise) Frommelt, Peggy (Roger) Russell, Jason Moore, Melissa Moore, Will Frommelt, Brittany (Jeremy) Weber, Ashley (Drake) Tilton, Logan Frommelt, Tyler Frommelt, and step mother/good friend Candy Frommelt.
Brian has an army of nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews who will be missing their “Uncle Bri” like crazy.
Brian is also survived by his “Bonus Brothers/Best Friends for Decades”: Shane Schoenberger, Davey Schoenberger, and Lance Schoenberger. As well as a very special friend, Verna Jones.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents: Melody Moore, Thomas Frommelt, & George Frommelt, his sister & brother-in-law, Dawn (John) Soppe, former wife, Melody Moose, many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and some very, very dear friends.
Brian was a simple man, who enjoyed a simple life - good company, great family times, and lots of country music. Brian’s choice to be an organ donor, ensures that he lives on by still helping others.
