Carol Joan (Smith) Shireman

Carol Joan Shireman, 84, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on September 24, 2024 at Harmony Nursing Home in Dubuque.

According to her wishes, no public services will be held. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Carol was born on March 12, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Tom and Hilda Smith. She attended Dubuque Central High School. She was united in marriage to Joseph L. Shireman on April 9, 1958. She worked as a manager at Casey's General Store. Carol loved all animals, and was an avid bingo player.

She is survived by her son Jerry (Sheila) Shireman, granddaughter Carmen (Mike) Chalk, brother Dave Smith, and three sisters Pat Domath, Mary Shireman, and Sandy Millman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son Gary, sister Gloria, and brothers Tom and Bill Smith.
