Charles “Chuck” G. Wiebke, 79, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away at home with his family by his side on July 5, 2025.
Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 9, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hazel Green Cemetery.
Chuck was born on February 20, 1946, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, the son of Martin and Emma (Spanjer) Wiebke. Charles graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science. Charles married Elizabeth “Betsy” Bodell on December 26, 1998. Charles owned and worked as a pharmacist at Palmer Drug, pharmacist at Union Pharmacy and Walgreens, for a total of 35 years. Charles enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, bowling and traveling with his family; he was also an avid Bears and Cubs fan.
Charles is survived by his wife Betsy; their two children, Emma Wiebke and Grant Wiebke of Dubuque, Iowa; Charles’s adopted three children from his first marriage, Tracy (James) Wood of Woden, Iowa, Travis (Julie) Wiebke of Mason City, IA, and Troy (Emily) Wiebke of Mason City, Iowa; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Saathoff of Sterling, Nebraska and Eunice (Gary) Wieble of Richmond, Washington; and brother Ivan (Julie) Wiebke of Holyoke, Colorado.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son, David; three grandchildren; brothers, Robert, Everett, Stanley and Ralph; and sister, Sandy Armkenecht.
