Darlene Block

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Ann Block, of Maquoketa, Iowa on January 9th, 2025, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her loving family. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16th, 2025, at Dubuque Memorial Gardens. 

Darlene was born on January 8th, 1941, in Colorado Springs, CO the daughter of Kenneth and Mildred (Cudde) Stokes. 

Darlene met the love of her life, Robert Block, and married on December 18th, 1965, together they shared 43 years of marriage until his passing on December 26th, 2008. 

Darlene enjoyed working with her hands, she loved to crochet, make afghans and baby blankets. 

She is survived by her children Robert (Tracey) Block, of Dubuque and Tim (Tammy) Block of Maquoketa, IA. Her grandchildren, Rob, Derek, Mitch, Katie and Felicity along with three great grandchildren, Liam, Lana and Emilia.
