Obituary

David Orr, 80, of Key West, Iowa, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday September 21st, 2022, at home with his wife by his side.

            In keeping with David’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, Iowa, is assisting the family.

            David was born on January 5th, 1942, in Boscobel, Wisconsin, son of Evans and Lenice (McPhail) Orr. He served in the United States Marine Corps from February 1968 until February 1964. On June 5th, 1965, he married Carol Northouse in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He worked for Hawkeye Paving until his retirement. He enjoyed NASCAR races and the Green Bay Packers.

            He is survived by his wife Carol, sisters Mary Ellen (Wayne) Donar, Sharon Brookins, and Lenore (Walter) Schramm, and brother Ronnie (Carolyn) Orr.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dick, in-laws, and brothers-in-law Rick Northouse and Arnold Brookins.

            The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for their care and support, especially nurses Kelli and Angelia.

            In lieu of flowers, a David Orr memorial fund will be established. Memorials may be sent to Leonard Funeral Home in David’s name.
