David "Mudaski" Michael Driscoll, 73, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa, on July 2, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Peosta.
Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church before the Mass. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.
David was born on May 20, 1952, in Dubuque, Iowa, the fourth son of Frank and Grace (Shanahan) Driscoll. After graduating from Wahlert High School, he attended Loras College, where he earned a Liberal Arts degree and graduated in 1974.
After selling insurance for ten years, David was a salesman with Eagle Point Software, and with Lowes (for ten years). He briefly worked with Conlon Construction. David then enjoyed a career in the hospitality industry for ten years.
David married Peggy Maiers in 1976. Their children are Mark (Jess) Driscoll, Chicago; Michael (Robert Deason) Driscoll, Chicago; Sarah (Phil Yunk), Appleton, WI; and five grandchildren. For the past 18 years David shared his life with his beloved Carolyn Temperly.
David was the consummate “people-person.” Like his father Frank before him, he never met a stranger or forgot a name, a characteristic which served him well in the family insurance business. He often was the only person in the room who could recall the names of distant cousins, spouses and children, and the details of their lives.
David was an avid White Sox fan, an accomplished skier and member of the National Ski Patrol. He loved to bike, camp and travel. In retirement, he found enjoyment helping others with projects big-and-small. David is lovingly remembered and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother Charles. He is survived by his children, Mark, Michael and Sarah and grandchildren (Edie and Elliot; Imogene; Clementine and Leona); his siblings, Pat (Fran) Driscoll, Davenport, IA, Robert, Denver, CO, Mary Beth (Tom Isetts) Driscoll, Milwaukee, WI, and Kevin (Teresa) Driscoll, Des Moines, IA; Carolyn Temperly, and her children, Tammy (John Stich) and Todd (Chris) Temperly Cleveland, Ohio and her grandchildren, Kainoa and Grace.
David’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of MercyOne for the level of care, love, and compassion shown to David.
