Doris Stine Gross-Horsley

Doris Stine Gross-Horsley was born April 28, 1961 in Canton, Mississippi and transitioned into eternal life on February14, 2021.

Doris accepted Christ at an early age. She attended West Side High School in Gary, Indiana. She married the love of her life Johnny DeWayne Horsley on June 22, 1985 at Zion Progressive Baptist Church. She was a former resident of Gary, Indiana for many years and a former member of Zion Progressive Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Almeda Grey-Gross; 2 greatgrandchildren; Johnathan and Lashayla.

Doris will be greatly missed and remembered by her husband Johnny DeWayne Horsley; father, Otha Lee Gross; children, Shemell (Dawon), Donta’ (Ranee), and Willie (Raven) Horsley; grandchildren, Shenel, Johnathan (Bri) Shakera, Martez, Willie Jr. Jeremiah, Madison, Morgan, Leo, Jenaleigh, Kyra and Mariah; great-grandchildren, Carterr and Crane; sisters, Gloria, Debra and Charlotte; brothers, Corey and Moses; loving brother-in-law Rickey L. Horsley; loving nephews, Lamar (Tia) and Marcus; loving niece, LaToya (Clyde), and a host of other precious nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and special friends, the Bell family and Harris family who loved her dearly.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
