Ethel “Cherie” M. Lewis, 93, of Dubuque passed away on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3650 Asbury Road, Dubuque.
Cherie was born in Chicago, IL and on July 2, 1945 she married Leonard S. Lewis. A devoted mother and wife, she and Leonard farmed and raised 3 children in Dubuque.
Cherie spent many years in service to her Creator, Jehovah God. Through her Bible educational work as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she touched many lives. She was loved and respected by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her hospitality and concern for others.
Surviving are her children, Roger (Marjorie) Lewis, Dale (June) Lewis, and Mary (Richard) Gotz, and grandchildren, Mattheuw (Stacie) Lewis, Jeffrey (Gwen) Lewis, Stephen (Karna) Lewis, Robert Lewis, Cynthia (Aaron) Viertel, Heather (Jesse) O’Neil, Jennifer (Greg) Normington, Erin (Jason) Schmitz, and David (Stephanie) Gotz, and nine great grandchildren.
