Gary was born on March 21, 1958, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Lawrence and Loretta (Grothe) Davis. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who shared 46 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife Beverly. From quiet weekend camping trips with the grandkids, to hunting and fishing adventures out west, they built a life centered on love, hard work, family, and an unwavering love for one another.
Gary was an avid outdoorsman and found great joy hunting and fishing in wild places and treasured the unique challenges those experiences provided. Whether casting a line on the banks of the Mississippi, his beloved turkey woods in the spring, or spending time hunting and fishing in the Rocky Mountains, he felt most at peace being in nature with those closest to him and he followed the seasons with an anticipation that never wavered.
More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, Ella, Carson Ryder, Cayden, and Kinsley.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children: Jeff (Amanda) Davis, Angie Davis (Brett Weiland), and Amber (Cliff) Melvin; his mother; five grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Davis (Tom May), along with five other siblings.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, and brother Davey.
A special thank you to the LaMotte EMS and Bellevue ambulance service.
