Jeff was born on October 27, 1960, in Dubuque, IA, the son of LeRoy O. Holz and Kathleen M. (Dougherty) Holz. He attended Southwestern High School. At the ages of 17 and 18 Jeff built silos in Platteville, and then into his early 20’s he scrapped metal with his dad. For the next 30 plus years he worked as a diesel mechanic and a semi-truck driver. His last job being with Consumer Supply.

Jeff was wild, carefree, and full of fire(ball). He lived everyday like it was his last. His biggest passion was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle’s – he was known as the “Burnout King” – Dad was never afraid to shred a tire then complain about it later! He attended Sturgis Biker Rally annually for years. He loved being around his buddies – they were like family to him. He was a gear head at heart, always tinkering in the shop on his toys (motorcycles and race cars).  He belonged to the Pushrods Car Club and enjoyed going to Car and Bike Shows. Jeff loved his dog Bear but especially loved his family and was a proud grandfather.

He is survived by his daughters, Alanda Holz of Dickeyville, WI, Kaylea (Holz) Tigges, Dubuque, IA; son, Brandon (Ashley) Holz, Dyersville, IA; five grandchildren, Preston Ohnesorge, Destiny Schwartz, Easton Schwartz, Carter Holz, and Audrey Holz; two sisters, Karen (Ricky) Wills, Leadmine, WI, Sonya Groom, Dickeyville, WI; nieces and nephews, Trevor Cherry (Godson), Adam Wills, Jordanna (Jason) McCartney, Shane (Sarah) Groom, Katie (Justin) Potter; along with seven great nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Anthony Holz, and a brother-in-law, Robin Groom.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Hospice of Dubuque, Hawkeye Care Center and Accura Healthcare of Cascade for the special care given to their dad.
