Jeffrey J Anthony

Jeffrey “Hank” J. Anthony, 58, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on April 17, 2026.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Tri-State Community Church, 12937 Derby Grange Rd, Dubuque, IA 52001. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Jeffrey was born on November 13, 1967, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Donald J. and Ruth A. (Tegeler) Anthony. Jeff followed in his father’s footsteps and became a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially flowers gardens. He loved animals and made a beautiful burial ground for his sister’s dogs. He would always give thoughtful gifts and trinkets to those he loved. Deep down, he had a heart of gold, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be truly missed.

Jeff is survived by his siblings, Gerald J. Anthony of Prairie du Chien, WI, Janet (Steve) Hirsch of Dubuque, John (Jack) Anthony of Sherrill, IA, and June (Tim) Berntgen. Nieces and nephews; Dawn (Matt) Hinzman, Mike (Ellie) Hirsch, Brad (Jen) Anthony, Ben (Jennifer) Berntgen, and Becky (Stuart) Schueller; along with 13 great nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Thomas Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens and the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.
