Jeffrey F. Montgomery Sr.

Jeffrey F. Montgomery Sr., 49, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on November 3, 2021, at home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a sharing service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Jeff was born in Dubuque, IA on July 20, 1972, the son of Rose Marie (Harr) Hemenway and Lee Montgomery Sr.

He was a member of the Downtown Neighborhood Association.

Jeff had a kind heart and was the first to offer help to anyone in need. For many years he was the primary caregiver for his father, Lee Sr., whom he considered his best friend.  

He was a member of the Downtown Neighborhood Association and, with the help of his nephew Eric, was instrumental in gathering historical information about Jackson Park which resulted in a dedication ceremony that included Mesquakie tribe members blessing the area.    

He had a great love for fishing and enjoyed sharing this passion with others especially with his nephew, Kevin Jr. “Little Man”, whom he took with him every chance he got. He found it comical how much Kevin Jr. hated touching the fish. Jeff had a deep love for his family and friends and cherished spending as much time with them as he could.

He is survived by his children: Dacotta Montgomery (Chelsey), Cheyenne Montgomery (Tyler), Andrew Thola, Jeffery Montgomery Jr., Brooke Konzen and  Katie Konzen; his siblings: Kim (Tom) Harvey, Brad Priebe, Rory Priebe, Rhonda Priebe, Lee (Sheri) Montgomery Jr., Cindy (Keven Sr.) Merkes, Douglas (Mary) Montgomery Sr; many nieces and nephews along with a special friend Carrie Ann Kieffer Tigges. 

He was preceded in death by his father Lee Montgomery Sr., his mother Rose Marie Hemenway (Mother) and many friends, aunts and uncles.
