Obituary

Joanne Marie Hagensten, 60 of Dubuque passed away Wednesday September 13, 2023, at home following a short illness.

Visitation for Joanne will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery Chapel from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 19, 2023, followed by a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Cemetery Mausoleum. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Joanne was born on October 16, 1962, in Dubuque, the daughter of Joseph and Dianne (Kurtz) Hagensten. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and later attended NICC where she achieved her Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

She worked at Sunnycrest Manor for many years as a CNA and in Housekeeping, where she made many good friends of her patients and co-workers.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sitting outside, and watching Jeopardy.

Surviving is her daughter Josie Hagensten, of Dubuque, and her brother David Hagensten, of Texas.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dianne.
