Larenthia LaFaye Jones, 43, of Peosta, Iowa, passed away on January 9, 2026.
Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Larenthia LaFaye Jones was born on July 19, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Sheila Jones and Charles Smith. She was the second of four children.
Larenthia “Red’s” journey in Christ began at All-Nation Pentecostal House of Prayer in Chicago, Illinois, under the late Pastor Hattie Louden. She later continued her faith journey at Greater Faith Pentecostal Church under Pastor Thomas. Larenthia "Red" attended Romeoville High School in Romeoville, Illinois.
She was employed at Casey’s General Store in Peosta, Iowa. Her hobbies included dancing, spending time with her family and loved ones, singing with her children, and anything related to reality celebrities. Most of all, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to others and to her family.
Larenthia had one child, Joseph Love-Jones, before meeting Sean Taylor, whom she married on June 26, 2016. Together, they had two more children, Sean Taylor Jr. and Searenthia Taylor.
Larenthia was preceded in death by her father, Charles Smith, and her uncle, Eddie Jones Sr.
Larenthia leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Sheila (Jesse) Jones-Lane; her loving and devoted husband, Sean Taylor; and her children, Joseph (Destiny) Love-Jones, Sean Taylor Jr., and Searenthia Taylor, all of Joliet, Illinois. She is also survived by her siblings: Latrice (Dennis) Brown, Jeremiah Jones, sister-in-law Dawn Sheward, siblings Jerry (Peggy) Russell, Denise Jones, Brenda Jones, Linda Jones, and David Jones; and her uncles, Ronnie Jones and Gerald (Tiffany) Jones.
The family of Larenthia Jones (Red) would like to express sincere thanks for the many prayers, calls, cards, and other acts of kindness shown to our family during this time of bereavement.
