Loras Leo Schueller

Loras Leo Schueller, 82, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on October 17, 2024, at Ennoble Manor in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 19, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Military Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet.

Loras was born on April 13, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Lawrence and Hilda (Klein) Schueller. He proudly received his B.A. from Iowa State in Mechanical Engineering. Loras honorably served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 25 years until his retirement, and then he later worked at Durant Architecture.

Loras enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with anyone and everyone. He loved being in nature, especially hiking through the national parks. For the last seven years, Loras was an Iowa/Arizona snowbird.

Loras is survived by his brothers Stanley (Mary) Schueller and Gerald (Alice) Schueller, and three nieces Laura Mostaert, Lisa O’Hanlon and Karla Rolwes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
