Mary R. (Schaller) Avery

Mary R. (Schaller) Avery, 69, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on September 7, 2021, at her home.

Committal prayers will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Mueller Chapel, Linwood Cemetery. Entombment will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.

Mary was born on November 16, 1951, in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Duffy) Schaller. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and for 15 years worked for Eagle Window and Door in Dubuque. She lastly worked at the Q Casino until her retirement.

Mary loved her cat “Skitz”, enjoyed camping, being outdoors and sitting on her swing.

She spoiled all her nieces and nephews especially her Godson Brandon; Mary had a kind soul and would help anyone in need.  

She is survived by her stepmother Wanda Schaller, of Dubuque; her siblings, Ellen Welp, Harris (Peggy) Schaller, JoAnn Flosi, Laura Schaller, Kathy (Tom) Kelleher, Lee Ann Frost, Nancy Schaller, Curt (Renee) Schaller; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two siblings Donald Schaller and Terry Shaw.

In lieu of flowers a Mary Avery memorial fund will be established.
