Nancy J. Wodrich, 84, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on January 3rd, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA, surrounded by her loving family.
A Visitation will be held, with Celebration of Life Service following, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, at 10 am – 12 pm, Friday January 5th, 2024. A private burial will be at Linwood Cemetery.
Nancy was born on February 17th, 1939, in her Parents’ home, in Dubuque Iowa. Her father, Joseph owned and operated the Ten Pin Tap, and she remembered collecting for the Euchre games, which is where she discovered her penchant for card games and met her Husband Bill. She often played Euchre with family at evening dinner parties.
Prior to marrying Bill, Nancy worked at Brown’s Publishing in Dubuque, where she took great pride in working with the machines and as a book binder. Through the years she babysat many children, including the Giese boys.
Nancy loved her family and raising her four children. She provided a loving, fun filled childhood leaving her children with many great memories such as, special after school treats, bedtime cookie parties, wonderful home-cooked meals, and lots of hugs. She made a point of attending numerous school activities including plays and sporting events, cheering everyone on.
Nancy and Bill enjoyed their retirement years in Prescott, AZ where they took part in many bus trips to Casinos and enjoyed the warm weather. Before returning home to Dubuque to be closer to their children.
Nancy made friends with everyone she met, always greeting everyone with a warm smile. She loved to talk on the phone, enjoyed extended shopping trips with her Sister-in-Law, Kathie. Her favorite things included Lawerence Welk, Hallmark Movies, and especially the Golden Girls. She was an avid painter and enjoyed watching Bob Ross. She shared her love of music with her children.
She is survived by her four children: Penny (Mike) Healey, Charles (Pam) Wodrich, Bill (Sonia) Wodrich, Scott (Becca) Wodrich, seven Grandchildren, and four Great Grandchildren. Her Brother Tom (Kathie) Reisdorf, and her Sister Diane Connolly and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her Husband William Wodrich, her Parents Joseph and Irma Reisdorf, her Sisters Betty Thoman, Lois Weber, her Brother Terry Reisdorf, and her grandson Billy Wodrich.
