Russ Heim Obituary

Russ Heim, 62, of Dubuque, IA, passed away at UnityPoint Health - Finley Hospital on Monday November 4, 2024.

A visitation will be held Monday November 11, 2024, from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595, Rockdale Rd. Dubuque IA. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 with Deacon Mike Timmerman officiating.

Russ was born March 22, 1962, in Dubuque IA, to Melvin and Bonnie (Avenarius) Heim. He married Lynn Dalsing on August 9, 2003.

He spent most of his career as a battery technician at YMH Torrance.

Russ was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his grandkids. He enjoyed having holidays with his family and extended family members. He enjoyed his weekends “Jeeping” with the Tri-State Stump Jumpers Club and watching sci-fi and western movies.

He is survived by his wife Lynn; sons Matthew Heim, Adam (Alicia) Bell, Jonathan (Madeline) Klecker and Joseph Klecker (a very special son); grandchildren Paetyn and Emery Bell, Iris and Asher Klecker; his siblings Bonnie (Butch) Lehman, and Scott Heim; sisters-in-law Lori (Steve) Weber and Lisa (Don) Dalsing-Ahlers; and parents-in-law Merlin and Kathy Dalsing.

Russ is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Diana and Dawn Winter and sister-in-law Lola Dalsing.

In lieu of flowers a Russ Heim memorial has been established.

The family would like to thank the Finley Hospital 4th and 5th floor nurses and Dr. Warraich for their compassionate care of Russ.
