Shirley Rae Spinoso

Shirley R. Spinoso, 87, of Dubuque, IA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 17th, 2024. 

She was born on May 13th, 1937 in Clinton, IA to Raymond and Josephine Gordon.  Shirley grew up in Thompson, IL.  She married Joseph C. Spinoso on December 29th, 1956 at St. John’s Catholic church in Savanna, IL.  Shirley went to school for nursing in Clinton, IA and worked as an LPN at Luther Manor in Dubuque for many years.

She enjoyed her family, traveling, reading, and gardening.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 68 years; her children - Joe (Carol) Spinoso of Dubuque, IA, Steve (Brenda) Spinoso of Las Vegas, NV, Angie (Dave) Nelson of Lenexa, KS, Joni (Bruce) Davis of Temecula, CA, and Andrew (Lena) Spinoso of East Peoria, IL.  Grandchildren - Michael (Maria) Doyle of Overland Park, KS, Peter (Olivia) Spinoso of Dubuque, IA, Adam Spinoso of Dubuque IA, and Leanora Spinoso of East Peoria, IL.  Her sister, Judith Stennerson, of Mesa, AZ.  Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Sarah Doyle.  A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
