Terrance “Terry” M. Thompson, 59, of Dubuque Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Dubuque on Saturday, September 28, 2024, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday October 7th, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A funeral service will follow Tuesday October 8th, 2024, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Terry was born on February 18th, 1965, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Gene and Karen (Trizulny) Thompson.
He worked the majority of his career as a manager of St. Vincent De Paul in Dubuque.
Terry was a kind and compassionate man, he enjoyed many outdoor activities and treasured time with family and friends. He loved fixing things that others would discard and lived each day to the fullest. His true passion was riding motorcycles; he loved to feel the wind in his hair, the roar of the road, and sunshine upon his face. Terry’s smile and laughter will be missed by his family, friends, and a special someone.
He is survived by his mother, Karen; children, Brandy (Kenneth Bostic) Phend, Krystal Thompson, Tyler (Julie) Thompson, Brandon Horkheimer, Brittany (Jordan Thornburg), Dakota Thompson, and Cameron Thompson; grandchildren, Eiyanna, Kywren, Elyse, Arya, Rylie, Sam, Willow, Letti, Lazarick “JoJo”, Isabella, Abel, Teri Sue, and 1 more on the way; siblings, Julie Lahr, Jim (Lynn) Thompson, and GlenNiece Kutsch; his Mother and Father-in-law, Paul and Judith Horkheimer; siblings-in-law Dawn Horkhiemer, and Darryl (Brenda) Horkheimer; and his significant other Sandy Loeffelholz.
Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Thompson; two sons, Michael Thompson and Trevor Hoag; his father Gene; granddaughter Ice Horkheimer; aunts Betty Mae, and JaNiece; and uncle Jack.
