Thomas Kohnen Obituary

Thomas Edwin Kohnen, 59, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away at home on July 25th, 2022.

Thomas was born on September 28th, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Merlin Bernard and Rosemary Joann (Licht) Kohnen.

He married his wife Shawn on August 21st, 1993. He worked for Penn Place Apartments for 15 years. Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife Shawn, sons Dylan (granddaughter Aubrey Kohnen), Devon, Dustin, and Drake, sisters Jan Schultz, Carla Heller, and Kim Hyde, and brothers Jim Kohnen and Tim Kohnen.

He was preceded in death by his parents Merlin and Rosemary, sisters Sue Uppmann, Patti Chaloupka, Nancy Sanders, and Pam Kass.

The Kohnen family would like to thank family friend Dawn Bates, Hospice of Dubuque, and everyone who has supported the family during this difficult time.
