Thomas F. LeGrand

Thomas Francis LeGrand, 57 of  Dubuque, Iowa passed away on September 12, 2020.  No public visitation or service will be held, private immediate family gathering will be held. 

He was born on June 12, 1963 in Guttenberg, Iowa the son of Kenneth A. LeGrand and Victoria A. (Wachendorf) LeGrand. He attended Leo High School and earned GED from Northeast Iowa Community College. He married Sue South (LeGrand), on May 25, 1982 in Silvis, Ill.

Tom was a fun-loving and free spirit who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.  He took his cooking skills seriously and found great satisfaction in making the perfect omelet, as well as homemade lasagna and spaghetti.  When Tom was at home, he enjoyed playing cribbage. At the casino, he liked the penny and nickel slot machines and he became a blackjack dealer for a brief time.  He enjoyed sampling a variety of beverages while listening to his favorite 70’s rock music groups like Boston, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac.  Tom could be found in the garage tinkering with cars and motorcycles in his spare time and experimented with “fine tuning” his craft of mechanics.

He is survived by his father Kenneth LeGrand; his siblings, Kevin K. (Yichen) LeGrand, Steven M. (Trisha) LeGrand, Angela M. (George) Killian, and William (Mindy) LeGrand; his former wife Sue South (LeGrand); his son Thomas J. (Shannon) LeGrand; and his daughter Kimberly (Derek) Sanders.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria (Wachendorf) LeGrand
