Thomas Lee Pitz

Thomas “Tommy” L. Pitz, 80, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on August 30, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family following health complications.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Tommy was born on October 4, 1944, in Dubuque, the son of Vincent and Joan (Winter) Pitz. He married Beverly Bierman on February 12, 1966  in Dubuque, and celebrated 59 years together. His working career started at the Dubuque Packing House and later he continued to work in retirement as a school bus driver. Tom was an avid Harley rider, and he enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Beverly; son Ricky (Diane) Pitz of Dubuque; daughters, Vicki (Mike Oberfoell) Blake of Dubuque and Angela Koppes of Sherrill; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by is parents.
