Wayne F. Maiers, 82, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at home.
Friends and family may visit from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 24, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with Military Honors to conclude at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque.
Wayne was born on July 12, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Edmund and Lavern Maiers. He honorably and proudly served his country in the United States Army in 1964, and humbly bragged about being a “shooting expert.” He worked at Kretschmer-Tredway from 17 until his retirement. Wayne enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs. He was proud of his Budweiser, stamp, and firearms collections.
Wayne was the best friend that you could ever have. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him, especially Adam Beeler, who saw Wayne as a father-figure.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Lavern, siblings Bonnie Maiers, David Maiers, and Gene Maiers.
In lieu of flowers, a Wayne F. Maiers Memorial Fund has been established.
