Jan, so sorry for your loss. Glad that Kristin posted this on facebook-I live near Milwaukee and don't get home as often as I'd like. Seeing Davids picture brought an instant smile to my face and a chuckle under my breath.I remember David and my dad were always kidding around, and you two were such close friends with mom, especially after her stroke. He will surely be looking down over you and the kids, protecting and watching with the warm, loving smile that he always had on his face. God Bless

Sorry for David's passing. I was lucky enough to welcome him and Jan to Durham in 1966. Clearly he lived a productive and meaningful life.

Dave was a gift and Heaven is so much brighter now! I remember so many times he brought comfort and prayer to wounded groups to help through sadness and grief. And then within a short time he would be joyful and laughing with the blessing of a new birth. He has been reborn in heaven! His touch and absence will be missed, he will be forever with your family.

I first learned of David through his late father and mother. His dad served as my first counseling elder while I was studying for the ministry at UDTS. I first met David during those years 1971-74 and again in 1976-77 when I was back on the campus for a second master's degree. Later I came to serve St. Luke's UMC in Dubuque (1990-94) where again our paths crossed. I always found David to be down-to-earth, in spite of his rigorous academic background. He was a sensitive and caring gentlemen. His final blessing to our family was to officiate at the marriage of my daughter at Grandview UMC. May his memory be ever blessed!

I worked with Dave at Finley Hospital when I was a Speech Pathologist there and always found him to be a wonderful, kind, good, good man. He made me laugh but in the tough moments he was a rock. I will always remember him with admiration and affection and consider myself blessed to have known him.

RONNIE always thought so much of Dave when he was Chaplin at FINLEY & will be missed much by everyone. RON is a security guard at Finley and asked me to post a condolence for him . He did not know much about computers.
