Dorothy Mae Reeg

Dorothy Mae Reeg, 83, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Bellevue, IA passed away Monday morning, October 23, 2017 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.              

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Church of the Resurrection, 4300 Asbury Road, in Dubuque. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25th, at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, in Dubuque where a wake service will be at 4:00 p.m. Family and friends may also gather after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church until time of mass. Burial will be in Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery in Bellevue.

Dorothy was born on October 20, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, lA, the daughter of Paul and Roseanne (Stanisha) Beckley. She married Edwin Reeg on June 22, 1953, at Saint Mary's Church in Dubuque.

She worked at the Pillow Factory and Ensign Coil Co. in Bellevue. She was active in her church and her faith in God was very important to her.

Dorothy loved to travel with Ed throughout their lifetime. She loved her family, loved visits from grandchildren and would do any sewing and mending of clothes when needed by the family. She was a very good baker of breads, pies and Christmas cookies. She loved to work outside in her flower garden and took pride in keeping a tidy yard.

She is survived by her children Shirley (Gary) Deppe, of DeWitt, lA, Danny Reeg of Key West, lA, Ronnie Reeg, of Bellevue, Terry (Sue) Reeg, of Dubuque, lA, Rick (Emily) Reeg of Bellevue, Amy Livermore of Bellevue, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brothers Robert, Paul Jr. (Carol), and George Beckley, sisters Joann (Ray) Schumacher, Mary Ellen (Tom) Timmermann O’Brien, Janet (Bob) Graff, and Jean Lemm.                                                                            

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, daughter-in-law Nancy Reeg, her parents and brother Fr. Clarence Beckley.
