While a student at DBQ Senior HS from fall '67-70 graduation, I remember Eileen Coursey very fondly. Books and reading have been my salvation in the 46 years since graduation. Her dedication to her students is a life long legacy. I delight in her rememberance.

Wayne, it is hard for me to imagine you without Eileen. The love the two of you showed for each other was a strong testimony to the kind of life-long commitment we all subscribe to on our wedding days. May happy memories help ease your pain!

Dear Wayne,
I first fell in love with motorcycles on a trip to California in 1960. My dream of owning one finally came true when I met this wonderful librarian named Eileen. She told me that you and she were starting a BMW motorcycle franchise. I was lucky and honored to be your first buyer. It was a 1966 R60 with an Earls fork. I was especially thrilled to own that bike.
When I was at Senior High for the school years 1967-68 and 1968-69 I would see Eileen often. When I had free time I would go to the library because chatting with Eileen was guaranteed to be a bright spot in my day, always good for a few laughs.
I also remember spending numerous evenings at your small shop keeping that R60 running ship-shape. I am so sorry to hear of Eileen’s passing. I know you will miss her dearly. Please be assured that her many friends will miss her and remember her always as a bright spot in their day.

Wow-I just received this sad news today. My condolences to Wayne and family. I started my teaching career at Senior High in 1968, and learned more about libraries than I needed to know.
Bought my first motorcycle from them, and pestered her almost daily about when it would be arriving--from Germany. She was there to help unpack it with Wayne and me. My wife and I enjoyed several (local) bike trips with them. A truly great lady with that special charming personality.

Wayne, Rose and I express our extreme sorrow at the death of Eileen. She was a gracious and wonderful person and she will really be missed by those of us that had the honor of knowing her. WE know the road ahead will be rough with your running mate absent but trust in the Lord and he will watch over you and care for you. We will keep you in our prayers.

It was a privilege to have been able to meet Eileen at a high school reunion in Cut Bank, Montana, and later to visit Wayne and Eileen at their home in Dubuque. She was a gracious lady and she and Wayne made a great couple. She will be missed by all who knew her. May God provide comfort to her family.

So many wonderful memories of time spent in Dubuque growing up with our dear family friends the Courseys. I always treasured the special book Eileen would pick out for my birthday gift. Eileen will continue to have a special place in my heart. With all my love & sympathy - Kristin & Scott

I'm so very sorry to have lost my friend of 43 years. So many memories keep passing thru my mind about the fun the 4 of us had at Pam Imports. Especially about the Latex crew and the Enamel crew. Take care of yourself Wayne, and thank you for taking such good care of Eileen.

Wayne, our thoughts and prayers are with you, it was a real pleasure to get to know you and a special cousin Eileen. Dad always talked a lot about the girls and to finally get to know and love them through the family reunions etc has been special.

I am saddened by the loss of Eileen, our dear cousin. I pray she is walking the pathways of the Heavens...rejoicing with all family, living and deceased knowing that her life was well lived and that she was loved immensely. May we be blessed in having known her, tho' a short time as one of our cousins. Another Amigos is wearing the heavenly crown!

My heart is extremely heavy as I write this note...in the twenty-four years since I was finally able to meet the "other" four Jons sisters I have been greatly blessed by all. Such beautiful memories of time with both Eileen and Wayne, especially the time DuWayne and I spent walking around, enjoying a lovely meal prepared by Eileen and Wayne (those VERY thick Iowa pork chops!!), and spending the night in luscious comfort at Walden. Wayne, Kay, and Patti, I wish I could wrap my arms around you right now, since that is not possible, my you know that memories of sweet Eileen will remain with you and all of us who were touched by her. I praise God that she is now in glory with Him.

I was one of the fortunate ones to have, "Mrs. Coursey" informally adopt me, as she did many Dubuque Senior High students, as our librarian. She followed my career as a student, a teacher, and eventually to Camp Courageous. Lois and Wayne would often drive their BMW motorcycle to Camp events or just to visit. Lois was a good and caring and loving person who treated here students like family. She was always so glowing and positive. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Wayne...what a wonderful couple.
