Phillip H. “Phil” Williams Jr. 68 of Elizabeth, Illinois and formerly of Dubuque died peacefully at home on Thursday May 14, 2015.

Graveside burial services with full military honors by American Legion Post #6 will be at 10:30a.m. Wednesday, May 20th, 2015 at Dubuque Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.

He was born on January 19, 1947, in Spencer, Iowa the son of Phillip and Lucille (Peppmier) Williams Sr. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. On October 18, 2012 he married Lynette Dettloff in Galena. Phil worked for John Deere for 30 years until his retirement. He loved to hunt and fish, and play pool. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Phil is survived by his wife Lynette, four children Lisa (Jeff) Vogel, of Bernard, Cathy (Dan) Richeson, of MN, Phillip Williams, III, of Dubuque, Sheila (Chance Heath) Williams of Cedar Rapids, a step-son Andrew (Haley) Murphy and four grandchildren Hunter, Evan, Keenan, and Keeleah. Two sisters Diane Meskimen and Sandra Williams and his former wife Norma Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Guy Meskimen
