My deep condolences to the family of my beautiful cousin Susie. Though we lived far apart geographically, the times we would encounter were always of good spirit and lively discussion and the warmth of family. I appreciated her frank assessments of life. As a child, I always appreciated my family's visits to Dubuque to see my slightly older cousin, and treasure the moments she'd let me hang out and drive around with her friends. Susie was, and remains, a true gem.
