Live Oak, Texas - James "Jim" Fisch, 62, of Live Oak, Texas (suburb of San Antonio, TX) passed away suddenly from natural causes at home on July 25th, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 12, 2017 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Rosonke officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  on Friday August 11, 2017, at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a parish wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m.  

James was born on October 9, 1954 at the Xavier Hospital, in Dubuque to Albert D. Fisch and Rosella E. (Freiburger) Fisch. James grew up on Rockdale Road in the Key West area of Dubuque and attended St. Joseph Parish grade school in Key West. He was an altar server at St. Joseph's in Key West and a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

He later graduated from Wahlert High School in Dubuque. He also graduated from Loras College in Dubuque and finished his education at Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He played softball and enjoyed long distance running in his younger years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Chicago White Sox baseball.

James worked in the area of Elkhart, Indiana for several years. James later became Branch Manager of the Imagestream Company and was relocated to Selma, Texas (another suburb of
San Antonio, Texas).

James is survived by his brothers Daniel N. (Jackie) Fisch of Irving, Texas, William R. (Barbara) Fisch of Dubuque, Iowa, Joseph D. (Cindy) Fisch of Kingston, Illinois, and Timothy J. (Connie) Fisch of Zwingle, Iowa, as well-as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert D. Fisch and Rosella E. Fisch, his sister Mary Ann Fisch, his Grand Parents and many Aunts and Uncles.

The arrangements in Texas were handled by Angela Franco of the Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154. The arrangements in Dubuque are being handled by the Leonard Funeral Home at 2595 Rockdale Road in Dubuque, IA 52003.
