I am so sorry to hear of Jannette.s passing. She was "Mrs. Stanton" to me at the West Iron Hill one- room country school on the Caves Road near Maquoketa. She was warm and caring and had a great smile. She was the last teacher there from 1957-1959 before it closed. The building is still there, but is a home now. She often talked about her sons, John and Terry. With great sympathy, Margaret Wilson

To Jane's family,
My sympathy to each of you as you say goodbye to your mom today. Not as easy thing to do no matter how long we have our loved ones.
I knew Jane at St. Anthony School as she was our daughter's teacher in 4th grade and I was on the staff. I will always remember her great big smile and friendliness. It never failed and one always felt welcome in her presence.
Keeping her and all of you in prayer today.

Sorry for your loss. Mrs. Stanton was one of my FAVORITE elementary teachers at St. Anthony's. She had an energetic personality, and was able to keep all of our interests. I fondly remember her correcting my math over and over and over again, and never getting overly frustrated with me. I also remember in her bold and expressive personality telling us of a story of a squirrel getting electrocuted on an electrical wire out side of her house. Weird what you remember when you are 4th grade, but she left a mark on my heart.
Sorry for your loss, she will be remembered fondly.
