Barbara A. Biedermann Gatena, 47 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Wednesday May 28, 2014, surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
Visitation will be on Saturday May 31st, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Diane Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Dubuque Memorial Gardens.
Barb was born on March 5, 1967, in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of William H. Biedermann and Darlene Spark. She married Michael Gatena in Dubuque.
She worked at Advanced Design in Dubuque for many years.
She is a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing darts, and Foosball watching or going to NASCAR Races, Sunday Fun-Day at her sister's pool but most of all spending time with her children and attending their events.
She is survived by two children; Joshua Weber, Jordan Weber, step daughter, Mariah Gatena, step grandson Cameron. Her mother; Darlene (Jerry) Hedley, grandmothers Darlene Biedermann, and Patricia Biedermann. Her sister Donna (Allen) Weber, 2 step brothers; Jeremy (Sabrina) Hedley, Jamey (Cindy) Hedley, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Herman, the Finley Hospital 4th floor Nurses and staff and to Hospice of Dubuque for all their wonderful care they gave to Barb.
In lieu of flowers a Barbara A. Biedermann-Gatena memorial fund has been established.
