Mark G. Kane

Mark G. Kane 35 of Asbury Iowa passed away Tuesday October 11, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center Dubuque, Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday October 17, 2016 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595 Rockdale Road. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery New Melleary. Friends may call from 1 to 5 pm Sunday October 16, 2016 at the funeral home.

Mark was born on August 22, 1981 in Dubuque the son of Michael Kane and Deanna (Thimmesch) Kane. He married Robin Barton on August 3, 2002 in Dubuque. Mark graduated from Hempstead High School in 2000 and was active with the Wrestling program. He worked for AIM Manufacturing Co. in Cascade and formerly worked for Premier Tooling in Peosta. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed body building and weight lifting along with the Oakland Raiders. His children were his greatest love and he especially enjoyed spending time with them and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Robin, two children Kylie and Luke Kane, two step children Jordan and Logan Steuer, his father Mike (Margie) Kane of Epworth, his mother Deanna Kane of Dubuque, two brothers Terry (Amy) Kane of Epworth and Kevin Kane of Dubuque, his maternal grandfather Harold Thimmesch, father-in-law, Bob (Memory) Barton, brothers-in-law, Jamie Barton and Justin Nank, and many aunt’s uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Malia West, maternal grandmother Anna Mae Thimmesch, paternal grandparents Joe and Angie Kane, an aunt Mary Jo Kiernan, and uncles, John Beireis and Jim Haudenshield.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to benefit his children.
